My name is Rashidah Young, and I’m originally from the Bay Area. I currently reside in Brooklyn, New York where I’ve been living for past 9-years. I always dreamed of living in New York. It’s funny because now as I look back on the past, I had a huge image of New York on my wall in high school. I’d never been. But I was so mesmerized by all the colorful sky rise buildings the cabs, and perhaps the grunginess of New York. I first visited New York with a college buddy named Jocelyn, and I knew I could see my self living in the big apple. Fast-forward to January 2017. I resigned from a position I recently got promoted to, took a leap a faith, and booked a one way to New York City.

As someone who studied Mass Communications with a focused in Journalism and Media Production, I knew NYC was the perfect place for me to follow my dreams. I also knew my passion for fashion would come more into fruition. I’ve written for Fashion Bomb daily for the past 3-years, producing 500+ articles. I’ve always been a writer since the wee age. As I’ve grown, I’ve discovered that story telling has the ability to unlock so many things.
