If you’re on the East Coast, you know we’ve experienced quite a few rainy days lately. While I personally love the rain and everything about fall, I’m still secretly holding on to summer.
Yesterday, I had a meeting in the city, so I decided to stop by SoHo, one of my favorite neighborhoods in New York. I hopped off the Q train at Canal and strutted down Broadway in a yellow merino jacquard polo sweater from GANNI, paired with black Samsøe Samsøe pants that felt like butter.
As I get older, I’m realizing the importance of investing in quality garments and in my previous role as a Store Director for an Italian company, I discovered so many quality fabrics that I’m more hyper-aware. My Ganni sweater, made of 100% wool was so chic and cozy, but I’m also a sucker for fabrics like alpaca, silk and cashmere blends during the fall season.
I layered my look with a trench coat from “Tarjay,” aka Target, because I’m all for mixing highs and lows. My black pumps, embellished with gold and rhinestones, were snagged from DSW, which has become one of my favorite places to shop for shoes.
As I strolled around Soho, I came upon a few vintage cars parked near Greene Street that I had to stop to admire. I don’t know about you but I live for a an old school car. I wish I could own a vintage corvette or mustang because I think that they’re so bad a**.
After it rained, the sun started to come out. It’s funny how sometimes the weather can reflect our lives. It’s like it can’t rain forever. Life is filled with so much sunshine and, unfortunately, sometimes a little rain. But it’s never stagnant and is always changing. That’s the beauty of life.
